Nippon SF1e is an all-positional, seamless, copper-coated flux cored welding wire manufactured in Japan to exacting high standards. One of the best, if not the best, wires for structural fabrication, ship building, bridges, ect.
It is a general purpose fluxed core wire which can be used for out-of-position work, ideal for high strength steels.
An excellent wire to run, described as smooth and buttery, with a high deposition rate.
Although classed as H5, the seamless design of this wire means it has an extremely low diffusible hydrogen content, typically 2.7ml/100g of weld metal. The low level of hydrogen significantly reduces the occurrence of cold cracking, (this is has become increasingly important in NZ with the variability in the quality of imported steel).
The copper coating ensures SF1E is virtually impervious to moisture and also gives superb tip conductivity and feedability.
Nippon SF1E would be our top recommendation in many cases where superior integral strength and reliability are required. Only the best metal cored wires beat it!
